Our Impact
Areas where we are active have seen an increase in jobs, property values, occupancy rates, and tax revenues, all while maintaining the cultural vibrancy of the surrounding communities. To validate the impact, GBX Group has engaged Rutgers Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy to study the economic impacts of GBX’s historic preservation properties in urban markets throughout the U.S. The school is one of the nation’s key centers for the theory, practice, and research of these impacts.

October 21, 2025DENVER, COLORADO — October 21, 2025 — GBX Group and Urban Cowboy Hotels are proud to share that Urban Cowboy Denver, housed in the restored George Schleier Mansion, was recognized with a 2025 Community Preservation Award from Historic Denver and the Molly Brown House Museum. The honor was presented at Historic Denver’s 55th Annual Gala, held October 16th at the Brown Palace Hotel.

In the mornings, the plaza is packed with people. If you’re a regular, you know what time Chris will roll up on his Harley, ready to share his love of the flute with anyone who will listen. Across the plaza, the bronze dog statue has become a must-have photo stop for locals and visitors alike. What’s now a gathering place was once only a parking lot. It took time to get here, but today it’s one of the most loved places in our downtown — and a reminder that other spaces waiting for their next chapter hold that same potential.
